Austin Walkin' Cane hat die Welt bereist und den Blues nur mit einer Gitarre und einem Koffer in der Hand gesungen. Der Sänger und Gitarrist sagt: "B.B. King - Live at the Regal war das Album, das mich im Alter von vierzehn Jahren zum Blues führte. B.B.'s Stimme und seine Gitarre haben mich umgehauen! Dann begann ich tiefer zu graben und fand Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker und Robert Jr Lockwood. Ein paar Monate später hat Robert Johnson - King of the Delta Blues Singers Vol. I & II meine Besessenheit von der Slide-Gitarre angefacht."

Austin und Chris Allen, ein weiterer Singer-Songwriter aus Cleveland, begannen schon als Teenager gemeinsam Songs zu schreiben. Diese Songwriting-Partnerschaft hat viele musikalische Früchte getragen, und für Canes achtes Blues-Album Austin Walkin' Cane - Muscle Shoals haben sich die beiden erneut zusammengetan. Das Album wurde von den legendären FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, inspiriert. Legenden wie Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett und Otis Redding nahmen ihre Hits im Studio A auf. Die Allman Brothers hatten ihren ersten Jam im Studio B. Cane sagt: "Ich war gerade auf dem Weg zu einem Auftritt bei einer Hausparty in Memphis, als ein Freund erwähnte, dass Muscle Shoals nur drei Stunden entfernt liegt. Ich buchte sofort eine Session im FAME". Fünfzehn Songs von Austin mit seiner National Resonator Guitar wurden an diesem Nachmittag aufgenommen. Das Slide-Gitarren-lastige Album wurde durch die Talente des legendären Produzenten Don Dixon im SPA STUDIO abgerundet.

Austin Walkin’ Cane has traveled the world singing the blues with only a guitar & suitcase in hand. The singer/slide guitarist says “B.B. King • Live at the Regal was the album that led me to the blues at fourteen years old. B.B.’s voice & guitar blew my mind! Then I started digging deeper & found Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and Robert Jr Lockwood. A few months later, Robert Johnson • King of the Delta Blues Singers Vol. I & II fueled my obsession with slide guitar.”

Austin and Chris Allen, another Cleveland based singer-songwriter, began writing songs together as teenagers. That songwriting partnership has reaped many musical dividends, and the two team up once again for Cane’s eighth blues album, Austin Walkin’ Cane • Muscle Shoals. The album was inspired by the legendary FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Legends such as Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett & Otis Redding recorded hits in Studio A. The Allman Brothers had their first jam in Studio B. Cane says, “I was leaving to perform at a Memphis house party when a friend mentioned that Muscle Shoals was only three hours away. I immediately booked a session at FAME.” Fifteen songs of Austin with his National Resonator Guitar were recorded that afternoon. The slide guitar heavy album was rounded out with the talents of legendary producer Don Dixon at SPA STUDIO.
